Florida Transportation Builders’ Association 2026 Expressway Authority Project of the Year

In Orange County, Florida, Prince widened State Road 429 from south of Florida’s Turnpike to West Road. The project increased the roadway from four general use lanes to six, adding a general use lane in either direction. There were also 23 mainline bridges that were widened to accommodate the appropriate shoulder widths. The project included:

• One complete bridge demolition
• More than 350,000 square feet of mechanically stabilized earth walls
• More than 142,000 square feet of sound barriers
• 41,167 linear feet of pipe
