ENGINEER: Target Engineering Group
YEAR COMPLETED: 2015
This 600-day, $7.9 million project encompassed 1.5 miles of complete urban roadway reconstruction of SR 17, from SR 544 (Scenic Highway) to US 17 (Hinson Avenue). Work included decorative lighting installation, storm drain modifications, and water and sewer main improvements. Finished roadway consisted of a three-line highway enclosed by Type F curb and six foot sidewalks. Storm drainage system included over 7,900 linear feet of A2000 storm drain pipe of various sizes and 98 precast storm drain structures. Utility work consisted of over 14,000 linear feet of PVC water, sewer, and force main pipe installations. This project demanded a complex MOT setup with multiple detours. Due to the urban and residential location of the project, close communication with the PIO and the community were necessary for an overall successful product.
