Tampa, FL, August 1, 2013 – Prince was the successful bidder on the FDOT District 7 Design-Build proposal that widens I-75 from north of CR 54 to north of SR 52, as well as improvements to SR 52 from west of Old Pasco Road to east of Corporate Lake Boulevard in Pasco County. This 1000-day, $71 million project includes roadway, drainage, bridges, walls, miscellaneous structures, signing and pavement markers, signalization, intelligent transportation systems, lighting and landscaping, geotechnical, subsurface utility engineering, and environmental permitting.
The Design-Build team of Prince and Atkins submitted a plan that shaves almost one year off of the original construction schedule. This project will provide for one additional lane in each direction and the resurfacing of the existing lanes along I-75. It also includes the reconstruction of the interchange at SR 52 to provide for a new loop ramp for westbound SR 52 to southbound I-75 traffic. The bridges on I-75 will be lengthened over SR 52 to accommodate the new construction.
