Atlanta, GA., (May 4, 2010) – Prince Contracting, LLC has been short-listed for Georgia’s first Public Private Partnership. Prince and Soares Da Costa, along with its partners Cintra, Ferrovial Agroman, and Meridiam, were among the three groups that submitted qualifications and were selected to propose on the development and construction of the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) $2.3 billion PPP project known as West by Northwest. The GDOT analyzed the respondent’s statements of qualifications (SOQ) and selected the short-listed teams based on their experience and capacity.

Shortlisted teams will present proposals to develop and construct a tolled Express Lanes system throughout the West by Northwest project corridor. The project corridor is divided into two segments, the Northwest and Western. Teams will present a Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Maintain offer for the Express Lanes system on I-75 and I-575 in Cobb and Cherokee counties, the Northwest Segment. The successful team will also enter into a Pre-Development Agreement to study, design, and permit the Express Lanes system on I-285 and I-20 in Cobb and Fulton counties, the Western Segment. Teams will submit their comments on the draft Request for Proposal (RFP) between July and October and the final RFP will be issued in November. Proposals are due in May of 2011 and GDOT will award the project the following July. For more information on the West by Northwest project and P3 program, visit www.georgiaP3.com.
