Macon, GA, August 3, 2010- Work began on the Georgia Department of Transportation’s I-75 widening project in Macon, Georgia as Prince started site preparations on Tuesday. Next week Prince will install erosion control devices and begin clearing operations. The heavy construction should commence in the following weeks.
On June 15, 2010, Prince received the Notice to Proceed from the Georgia Department of Transportation for the $54 million widening and reconstruction of I-75/SR 401 from Pierce Avenue and to Arkwright Drive. During the 30-month interstate improvement project, Prince will widen 3.65 miles of the existing road, construct seven bridges, and install Video Detection Systems (VDS) at intersections. Work is scheduled to last until May 2013.
